A Brief History of Prohibition in BC

29 March 2021 By

Through CIE’s engagement with people with lived/living experience (PWLLE) around the province, we learned that there was a real interest in prohibition and people wanted to learn more about how BC’s drug laws and policy were enacted. When BCcampus started to build an online repository of resources, we knew this was a curriculum we wanted to refine and create to be accessible online.

The Compassion, Inclusion, and Engagement (CIE) initiative is a provincial partnership between the First Nations Health Authority (FNHA) and the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC). CIE partners with Regional Health Authorities, community organizations and people with lived experience (Peers) across the province, using facilitated dialogue to build capacity and foster the formation of networks to support and sustain harm reduction service improvements.
